Rendered from CATALOG at build time: 14 objects, 29 distinct tickers. Weights are the catalog's own, before any live renormalisation.

The objects

The catalog is the demo set: the homepage, Explore and every /o/[slug] page come from it. iPhone is first on purpose. Every entry has a large photo in /public/objects, a one-sentence description, a basket, and two pieces of colour for the Explore card: a plausible scan count and a retail price.

How entries are built

Entries are written by hand with two helpers: c(ticker, name, role, weight) for a listed company and u(name, role, reason) for an unlisted one. make() sorts companies by weight, stamps source: "catalog", and throws at import time if the weights do not sum to 1, so a bad edit fails the build rather than the buy.

make({
  slug: "iphone-17-pro",
  name: "iPhone 17 Pro",
  category: "Smartphone",
  brand: "Apple",
  confidence: 0.984,
  description: "An Apple-designed A19 Pro fabbed by TSMC, Korean memory, …",
  companies: [
    c("AAPL", "Apple", "Design", 0.46),
    c("TSM", "TSMC", "Silicon", 0.18),
    c("QCOM", "Qualcomm", "Modem", 0.1),
    c("SKHY", "SK Hynix", "Memory", 0.1),
    c("AVGO", "Broadcom", "Wireless", 0.08),
    c("GLW", "Corning", "Glass", 0.08),
  ],
  unlisted: [u("Foxconn", "Assembly", "Listed only in Taiwan"), u("Sony", "Camera sensors"), …],
  alt: "Back of a space-grey iPhone Pro showing the triple camera module",
  scans: 12841,
  retailUsd: 1099,
})

getCatalogObject(slug) looks one up. CATALOG_BY_TICKER inverts the set, ticker to objects sorted by that ticker's weight, and drives the Objects you own section of the vault.

Coverage

The tickers that appear most often across the catalog. Silicon and memory show up in nearly everything.

Checked on 2026-09-04

Every ticker in companies was verified against the live registry that day. Robinhood adds and pauses stocks; resolveBasket re-checks on every request, so a ticker that goes dark moves to unlisted on its own without a catalog edit.
